January 2025 Newsletter Coats, Blankets, & Bags
Michael-46 is happy to receive a Bag, blanket, and sleeping bag.
We are forever grateful for our volunteers and supporters as we begin our seventh year sharing God’s love with the homeless.
We applaud our local shelters in their efforts to house, feed, and care for those in need. Sadly, there are still thousands of folks that are underserved.
The City of Dallas is in the process of dismantling and fencing off areas used as encampments. This action forces many of our homeless men and woman to seek shelter elsewhere. Where can they go? We are finding many unsheltered folks fighting against freezing temperatures, and rainstorms. They are living outside under bridges, on vacant lots, storefronts, and automobiles. It’s even commonplace to find folks sleeping on sidewalks.
Housing, employment, food, health, and safety remain top concerns for those experiencing homelessness.
Opportunities
We give thanks for the four opportunities in January that allowed us to share with more than 120 needy folks.
We are alarmed by the number of young adults that we see, eight in their twenties, five of which were women.
We want to do more! We want to share more! Our biggest obstacle is needing a vehicle that will allow us to carry more. A tall roof utility van would help us do that.
