Left Out in the Cold

Have you ever been “left out in the cold”? To most people this idiom simply means neglected, ignored, and forgotten.

However, to our homeless brothers and sisters living on the street, “left out in the cold” is a daily reality, especially this time of the year. The cold and wet weather adds to an already challenging and miserable day filled with desperation, fear, loneliness, and hunger.

We are called to help those in need

This year we added two additional outreaches in December.

Our focus was to pack as many cold weather items as possible into two vehicles, along with hamburgers. Four team members went out on December 6th., and five on December 19th.

There was no problem finding many underdressed folks needing another layer to help bear the cold. We shared a total of 630 articles of clothing and blankets, including warm hats, gloves, socks, shirts, sweaters, and jackets.

From Marquis aged 19, to Lawrence age 79, our homeless friends were thankful, and many wished our group a “Merry Christmas”.

Our wonderful supporters continue to answer the call by donating gently worn clothing items, shoes, and blankets.

Their financial assistance allows us to purchase in bulk socks, gloves, hats, underwear, water, food, personal care items, bags, Bibles, and more.

Merry Christmas and many thanks to our supporters & volunteers.

*Our regular December outreach will be on Sunday the 29th and we will be assembling bags on Saturday the 28th.

We are always in need of gently used clothing, shoes, and blankets.

Please consider a yearend tax deductible donation to help us continue to help these that are “Left Out in The Cold”.
