Just in the last seven days, Dallas temperatures have ranged from 28 to 91 degrees. Homelessness is especially difficult for those that are unsheltered. Dealing with hunger, health, personal safety, and worrying about where to relieve yourself adds to the misery.

This ministry shares the love of God providing personal caring support, hope, prayer, food, water, toiletries, blankets, shoes, and clothing delivered in person on the streets.

This past Sunday our team of 11 departed the church with a prayer and four loaded vehicles. Picked up 125 McDonald’s hamburgers and headed to Dallas.

We made two stops downtown and spoke to around 120 very needy folks. Some were camped out in a park across the street from the downtown library, others were living on the sidewalks within a block or two of that area. It was a warm afternoon with temperatures in the eighties. As you can see by the pictures, most of these folks were loaded down with all their possessions, including coats, and blankets.

The hamburgers were well received, along with 100 bags, and 30 ladies’ backpacks. 281 articles of clothing, consisting of 130 pairs of socks, 55 shirts and tops, 22 pairs of pants, 10 bras, and 64 pairs of underwear were given to the needy. Last but not least, we supplied dog food to 7 dogs.

Please Pray for these folks

Fact: Many folks are one paycheck away from being homeless.

It was reported in 2023 that there were more than 650,000 homeless people living in the United States of America. Causes noted were affordable housing, mental illness, substance abuse, and low paying jobs.

There are several ways you can help.

We are always in need of clean men’s and ladies’ shirts, tops, pants, sweaters, coats, socks, bras, caps, and new underwear. We especially need men’s pants, jeans, and shorts in sizes 30 to 38. Shoes & boots suitable for outdoor wear, blankets, sleeping bags, & tents.

Assembling and filling Bags and Ladies’ backpacks. This is generally done one Saturday each month and is a fun time of fellowship. Email or call me for more details.

Sorting clothes. People are responding to our need for clean or new clothing items. Volunteers are much needed to help sort, size, and organize these items.  We meet in our fellowship hall every Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 and always appreciate help.

Financial contributions. There will always be Homeless. Your continued financial contributions will allow us to continue this ministry and share God’s love to many desperate, needy individuals. Our monthly outreach cost is $2,683.58. Please help us help others.

Feel free to contact me regarding donations or other questions.
